DIE FARBEN DER SEHNSUCHT
Vor der Südküste von Cape Cod im US-Bundesstaat Massachusetts liegt die Insel Martha’s Vineyard (Marthas Weinberg). Jeden Sommer ist die Insel ein frequentiertes Urlaubsziel. Alison Shaw (*1954) wohnt seit 1975 fest auf der Insel. Seit Jahren betrachtet und beobachtet sie den Wechsel von Gezeiten und Jahreszeiten und lässt sich für ihre ruhigen, atmosphärisch intensiven Küstenbilder von Licht, Wind und Wetter inspirieren. Von der Natur und ihren Launen lässt sie sich führen, gibt sich ganz in sie hinein. Alison Shaws Bilder sind episch, strahlen Ruhe aus und erzählen vom endlosen Schlagen der Wellen, von der Magie der Insel mit ihrer opulenten Palette an Farben und Stimmungen. Während ihren quasi quadratischen Bilder die Anmutung klassischer Landschaftsmalerei innewohnt, wirken ihre Panoramen – obwohl doch nur ein Einzelbild – als wären sie bei einer Kamerafahrt für einen Film entstanden, und wir hören beinahe die unterlegte, langsame, erzählerische Musik eines Wiedersehens oder eines Abschieds.VITA
lebt und arbeitet als Fotografin auf Martha’s Vineyard. Sie gibt Kurse für Fotografie für die „Maine Photographic Workshops“ und „Santa Fe Workshops“.Ausstellungen
